Upcoming hikes and camps →On May 5 we had a very beautiful and physically active day. We were in the Lori region and had decided to cross the Sevordyats Mountains, and so we did. We started walking from Karinj, a beautiful village in Lori (literally “at the foot of the rock”), and finished the hike in the village of Akner. We walked the whole route full of clouds, mountains and alpine meadows, with a playful mood. Nature was so beautiful that we kept stopping to take photos, which you’ll also see in the pictures. And Mount Eghnakhaghats was so inviting that the children wished to climb this mountain someday too. At the very beginning of the hike, we were lucky to see white storks up close: at first they were on the ground, and when they saw us they took off. Looking up in amazement, we managed to count 21 storks.
From the middle of the hike we found ourselves in thick fog, which made nature even more fairytale-like. Fog, a white horse in the haze of the field, water droplets hanging from the branches, the chirping of birds, damp air, a soft green … and children full of endless questions.
There were rainy places along the whole route, but we only put on our raincoats once, and when we reached Akner village it started to rain, but by then we were already near the bus and didn’t get wet again. But we had had a good soaking in the meantime.
We walked 18 km and covered 800 m of total elevation gain.
It was such a great hiking day.
