Ascent to Mount Sis

Well then, it’s time to make our next dream come true — climbing Mount Sis.

On September 19–21, 2026, we will ascend Sis (Little Ararat), which stands at 3925 m. While this height might seem easy to manage, keep in mind that the ascent is completed in a single day, with the climb starting from an altitude of 2500 m.

Day 1: Yerevan → Lake Childir → Ani → Doğubayazıt

We’ll set off from Yerevan. After crossing the Armenian-Georgian and then the Georgian-Turkish borders, we’ll head to Lake Childir (Hüsünü). After a rest, we’ll continue on to historic Ani.

Overnight stay: hotel in Doğubayazıt.

Day 2: Ascent of Mount Sis

At 3:00 AM we’ll head to the base of Mount Ararat at an altitude of 2500 m, and begin the ascent to Sis (3925 m). After the climb, we’ll descend to the base, from where we’ll drive to Doğubayazıt.

Overnight stay: hotel in Doğubayazıt.

Day 3: Kars

On the third day, with the impressions of the Mount Sis ascent still fresh, we’ll head to the city of Kars. We’ll visit the Kars Fortress and the Church of the Holy Apostles, which — although converted into a mosque — has not lost its Armenian spirit, ornamentation, and khachkars. After touring the historic city of Kars and having lunch, we’ll return to Yerevan.
