Children’s Hike in the Andzavajur Gorge
After celebrating New Year and Christmas, we made our first hike of 2024 on January 7, heading to the Vayots Dzor region. This is where the Andzavajur Gorge is located, which changes color from grey-brown to yellow. It has no fixed trail, and on the day of the hike the gorge was largely covered with snow and the stones wrapped in ice, but we got through it successfully. Twenty people took part in the hike, the youngest of whom was five-year-old Amalik, who walked most of the hike on her own and only a small part with the help of the adults. A children’s hike always leaves strong impressions, since it brings a cheerful child’s mood and colors that make our day beautiful. Despite the weather, our mood always brings warmth.
We started the descent into the Andzavajur Gorge from between the villages of Zangakatun and Yelpin and finished in Yelpin village, but the hike didn’t end there, since although it wasn’t in the plan, we discussed it with everyone and decided to also walk through the Zozo Gorge.
The first hike of the year turned out like this. Onward, toward new impressions and memories.
