Hike in the Pink Canyon — 4 Peaks

Hike in the Pink Canyon

On December 3, we were in the Pink Canyon with our little stars. Imagine: at 9:00 in the morning we were already lined up and ready to walk. Since the sun hadn’t yet risen above the mountains, it was quite cold. But once both we and the sun had climbed high enough, we started moving, after moving we warmed up, and after warming up we started chatting a lot. The children had come to the hike with the goal of collecting beautiful stones, and we succeeded: we even found patterned (dendrite) stones. There is a section in the canyon where the rocks seem to completely block the way, but when we called out “Open, Sesame!”, the rocks split apart and we squeezed our way through. And the unique beauty of the Azat Reservoir and the rocky slopes of the Yeranos Mountains accompanied us with their otherworldly beauty.

We walked 13 km and covered 480 m of elevation gain.

In a word, it was a great day: the children discovered one of Armenia’s corners, overcame natural obstacles, made new friends, collected colorful stones and good memories.
