Tent Camp in Stepanavan
The tent camp held in Stepanavan from July 6-11 is the best way for children aged 7-14 to escape the summer heat, have memorable days, make new friends, toughen up physically and mentally, and gain independence. The camp is organized in a pine grove slightly removed from the town of Stepanavan, in the Lore Active Recreation area. As you may have gathered, this is a tent camp, which makes the camping days even more memorable and adventurous. Although we will be spending the nights in tents, meals are organized in an indoor area, and we have bathrooms and restrooms.
High-quality and delicious meals are provided three times a day during the camp. The children are supervised by individuals with many years of experience in organizing hikes and camps, as well as instructional experience. The camp area is under video surveillance, and night shifts are conducted for security.
Program
Day 1:
- 09:00 AM – Departure from Yerevan,
- Setting up tents,
- 1:00 PM – Lunch,
- Rope course challenge,
- Free time,
- 7:00 PM – Dinner,
- Campfire, games.
Day 2:
- 08:00 AM – Wake-up time,
- 09:00 AM – Breakfast,
- 11:00 AM – Hike to Pushkino Canyon or Gomeradzor and river crossing lesson,
- 2:00 PM – Lunch by the river,
- 3:00 PM – Return to camp and rest time,
- 7:00 PM – Dinner,
- Campfire, games.
Day 3:
- 08:00 AM – Wake-up time,
- 08:30 AM – Morning exercises,
- 09:00 AM – Breakfast,
- Sightseeing walk in the town of Stepanavan,
- 2:00 PM – Lunch,
- Climbing on an artificial wall,
- 7:00 PM – Dinner,
- Campfire, games.
Day 4:
- 07:00 AM – Wake-up time,
- 08:00 AM – Hike along the slopes of the Bazum Mountains,
- 2:00 PM – Lunch at the camp,
- First aid lesson,
- 7:00 PM – Dinner,
- Campfire, games.
Day 5:
- 08:00 AM – Wake-up time,
- 09:30 AM – Breakfast,
- 10:30 AM – Departure from the camp to Madan village, from where we will hike to Koshaberd, reaching the top of the cliffs overlooking the town of Alaverdi. Lunch will be organized during the hike.
- 7:00 PM – Dinner at the camp,
- Campfire, games.
Day 6:
- 07:00 AM – Wake-up time,
- 10:00 AM – Breakfast,
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Departure.
What you need to have
- Hat, including a sun hat,
- Ear protection from wind: buff, bandana, or cloth hat,
- Sunglasses,
- Sunscreen,
- Change of clothes, including warm clothes. Evenings in Stepanavan are very cool,
- Backpack for hiking,
- Waterproof hiking boots and other shoes to wear at the camp,
- 1-liter water bottle,
- Walking stick (if you have one),
- Raincoat (mandatory),
- Hygiene items: toothpaste, toothbrush, towel, comb,
- Sleeping bag and mat (if you don’t have them, please let us know in advance),
- Flashlight.
Departure and return location: Below the Matenadaran, Mashtots Avenue.
Camp cost: 90,000 AMD, which includes:
- Round-trip transportation,
- Transportation for hikes outside the camp,
- Three meals a day,
- Entrance tickets to historical and cultural sites,
- Instructor fees.
