Ascent of Mount Ara, book discussion around the campfire
On October 4, 2026, we will make an ascent of Mount Ara, which stands 2,605 m high. According to tradition, the mountain was named after King Ara the Beautiful. The ascent is of medium difficulty. After the hike, amid beautiful views, we’ll head to the “Cmoor” gastro-truck in the village of Nor Yerznka, where — over a campfire and a cup of tea — we’ll hold a discussion of the book “The Backpack of Willpower” with its author, Nazeli Galstyan, and enjoy a beautiful autumn evening.

How to prepare for the hike
1. Winter hat, as well as a sun hat
2. Sunscreen
3. Sunglasses
4. Long-sleeved top
5. Windbreaker and a medium-weight jacket
6. Hiking/sports pants (not jeans)
7. Waterproof shoes with thick soles
8. Trekking gaiters (optional)
9. Trekking pole
10. Raincoat

14. A bag to carry your trash back with you
15. Spare shoes and socks, to be left in the car
