Cleanup at Aparan Reservoir
The purpose of the October 11, 2026 hike is environmental. Once or twice a year, the “4 Peaks” mountain club organizes a large cleanup, which has 2 goals: to teach children a caring attitude toward nature, and of course to help nature breathe a little easier by clearing away trash. We’ll carry out the cleanup on the shore of Aparan Reservoir, around the Surb Poghos-Petros Church and the surrounding area. The shoreline areas of the reservoir are always full of trash, and we’ll talk with the children about the reasons for this right there during the cleanup.
Cleanup supplies will be provided on site.
How to prepare for the hike:
- sun hat,
- sunscreen
- sunglasses,
- wear a thin long-sleeve top,
- wind-resistant jacket,
- wear hiking/sports pants (not jeans),
- shoes with thick soles, as waterproof as possible,
- raincoat,
- water 1.5L,
- food,
- put all of this in a backpack,
- a bag for your own trash (candy wrappers, empty tissue boxes, used wet wipes) to put it in,
- spare shoes and socks, which we’ll leave in the car.
