Ararat Sunset from Mets Parakhadem
On Sunday, we opened another beautiful page of our mountain journeys with the children. This time we headed to the Ararat region to climb Mets Parakhadem (1,949 m) and enjoy the indescribable beauty of the sunset.
From the very start of the hike, the children were full of excitement (and how much they talked is the best proof of it). It was very hot at the beginning. Toward evening, the sun slowly sank toward the horizon, and golden light wrapped around the mountain peaks and the slopes, already dressed in gold.
At sunset, the mountains put on their orange and crimson cloak, and we sat together as a group, admiring the magic of that moment.
When it got dark on the way down, we switched on our headlamps. But during a rest stop, we turned off the lights for a moment, lay down and started looking at the sky. And at that moment, countless stars twinkling in the sky greeted us. The gentle sound of crickets filled the silence, creating an atmosphere of pure nature and peace.
This hike became not only a physical challenge but also a vivid memory: the children felt the power of the mountains and the calm beauty of the sunset. We covered a 13-kilometer route with 670 m of elevation gain.
