Aghvan Chatinyan Climbing Competition
A few days ago, on 06.06.2025, the children of the “4 PEAKS” children’s and youth mountain club took part in a wonderful climbing event organized by the Armenian Federation of Alpinism and Mountain Tourism. The event was named after the Armenian mountaineer Aghvan Chatinyan and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.
As part of the event, the children also competed in rock climbing, showing excellent results and winning top places.
Interestingly, during regular training some fears sometimes kept the children from climbing quickly and all the way to the top, but at the competition they were focused and set their fear and worry aside.
Results by age group:
1st place: Maria Petrosyan, Alexander Manucharyan, Anna Danielyan;
2nd place: Ani Haroyan, Tigran Matevosyan, Sofya Kalantaryan;
3rd place: Eliza Beginyan, Sofia Ilbekyants, Vardan Hayrapetyan.
The event took place in a very warm atmosphere, and everyone was very excited, including the parents. We hope such competitions will happen often, and we will take part again, hoping for even better results.
Thank you to the Armenian Federation of Alpinism and Mountain Tourism for organizing this competition, and to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia for its support.
