Shushan Antonyan

Shushan Antonyan is a geographer and educator, as well as a member of the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation. She has successfully summited several notable Armenian peaks, including Mount Aragats, Mount Azhdahak, Mount Armaghan, Mount Sandukhtasar, and Mount Teghenis. Through Shushan’s engaging lessons, children explore and understand the natural world through the lens of geography. They learn about mountain features such as foothills, slopes, and summits, as well as concepts including absolute and relative elevation. Her sessions also introduce participants to different types of mountains—fold, fault-block, and volcanic mountains—along with plains, lakes, caves, gorges, weather, climate, and many other geographical phenomena. These activities help children develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the environment around them.
