Dream Trail

On Sunday we are heading to Gegharkunik Province, where we will walk the Dream Trail. The trail starts near the Sevan Botanical Garden (what makes the garden special is that, although it lies at an altitude of 2,000 m, it is home to more than 450 plant species) and continues northeast through the Arjanots Mountains. The Arjanots Mountains are the southeastern branch of the Pambak Range. Throughout the ascent you can enjoy views of Lake Sevan and the Arjanots, Geghama and Areguni mountains. After walking 5 km along the trail, you reach a point that opens up a wonderful view of the Sevan Peninsula.
Children with no hiking experience are welcome to join this hike.
Route length: 8 km
Elevation gain: 300 m
How to prepare for the hike:
- a hat, including a sun hat
- sunscreen
- sunglasses
- a light long-sleeved top
- a fleece and a windproof jacket
- sports trousers (not jeans)
- thick-soled, preferably waterproof shoes
- a rain poncho
- gaiters (optional or depending on the weather)
- a trekking pole (if you have one)
- water: 1.5 liters
- food
- put all of this in a backpack
- a bag for bringing your trash back with you (candy wrappers, empty tissue packs, used wet wipes)
- a spare pair of shoes and socks to leave in the car
