Mount Khustup Ascent
June 19-21, 2026
One of our most anticipated climbs is approaching. We are heading back to the Syunik region to summit Mount Khustup (3201m), the iconic symbol of Syunik.
Day 1
We will depart from Yerevan for Kapan (the drive takes about 7 hours). We will stop at the Vayk food court along the way. In Kapan, we will switch vehicles and head to the campsite at Tapan (Navcha), located at an altitude of about 2,000 m above sea level. This time we won’t be setting up tents, as the campsite will be prepared in advance. The area has a kitchen, restrooms, and a campfire zone. Towards evening, we will gather wood and spend a warm, pleasant evening around the fire. However, we can’t enjoy the fireside chats for too long; we need to get to sleep early as we start our trek to Khustup early in the morning.
Day 2
We will wake up early at 4:00 AM, get ready, and begin our ascent to the summit of Khustup. After returning from the peak, we will rest at the camp.
Day 3
We will wake up at 9:00 AM, pack our things, and return to Yerevan, taking with us the beautiful memories of the Khustup ascent.

How to prepare for the hike
1. Winter hat, including a sun hat
2. Sunscreen
3. Sunglasses
4. Long-sleeved top
5. 2 layers of clothing: a jacket and a winter coat
6. Sports pants (no jeans)
7. Waterproof shoes with thick soles
8. Gaiters
9. Hiking poles (if you have them)
10. Raincoat
11. Headlamp
12. Sleeping bag
13. Water: 1.5 L
14. Food for 2 days
15. Change of clothes, shoes, and socks
16. Hygiene items
17. Pack everything into a backpack
18. Trash bag to bring your waste back with you

In case of cancellation on the day before the hike, the paid amount is non-refundable.
If you have not made a pre-payment, you are still obligated to pay the participation fee in such cases.
