Yeghunik and Slulik Caves

This Sunday we are heading to Tavush to visit the Yeghuniki Er and Slulik Er caves, hidden in the Mtnadzor gorge. Yeghuniki Er (Bat Cave) stands out for its size and its two entrances, one of which is a grotto, and it has a second-level platform built from juniper logs (you can read a study of the cave via this link).
Slulik Er (Pointed Cave) is another cave in the upper part of Mtnadzor that was once used as a refuge from enemies. One of its entrances is so small that you might not even notice it.
To reach these caves, we will need to cross the Mtnadzor stream several times; at this time of year it carries little water. Still, be ready for the crossings and for possibly getting wet.
We will start the hike near Yenokavan village and finish in Lusadzor village. The walk is not long, but the trail has some difficult sections, so please consult with us before registering.

- How to prepare for the hike.
1. Hat (a sun hat for the day)
2. Gloves (fleece or thin)
3. Sunscreen
4. Sunglasses
5. Long-sleeved top
6. 2 layers: a jacket and a light fleece (thin or thick, depending on the weather)
7. Sports trousers (not jeans)
8. Waterproof hiking boots (with a thick sole)
9. Rain poncho
10. Trekking poles (if you have them) and gaiters
11. Water: 1.5 L
12. Food
13. Spare shoes and socks
14. All of this goes in a backpack
15. A bag to take your trash back with you
